Refinished Vintage Dresser

Baby girl's dresser is finally complete and my god, I'm sincerely obsessed. Back story- This dresser, along with a matching armoire were given to us by my mom. She bought them with my dad way, way back when their love was still strong sometime in the late 1980's. The dressers outlasted the marriage by about 20 years and counting and I'm not even gonna lie, this sweet piece, for a lifetime of two Christmases, was a damn fair trade. So fast forward to a few years of this sitting in our garage with plans of becoming a dining room buffet and we decided to use it for the nursery instead. My husband refinished the whole thing. I take no credit. He started with a basic gray oil based spray paint primer after taping off the drawers, then moved on to a Valspar gray exterior flat paint. About a million coats later and it was almost done. He polished up the old brass handles to finish her off and I just loaded the last teeny, tiny baby item in. Did I mention I'm in love?

Also, check out that insanely gorgeous changing pad cover. My partner in crime, Alex, DIYed that bad boy for me following this changing pad cover tutorial and it is absolutely perfect in the room. She says it was pretty easy! The fabric coordinates so well. You'll see when we finally finish the nursery in it's entirety and I can post pictures! Till then, the dresser is a pretty good teaser don't you think?
